I have always had a thing for French Impressionism, and I find that my style is increasingly moving in that direction. My husband has randomly brought this fruit home at times, and I’ve thought—these are beautiful.

If you do, then you will understand my feelings now that this work—which has until recently been relaxing in my art room for about a year, as a naked canvas with some lovely painted leaves atop a penciled-in bottle—is complete. She was painted with red wine and the deep sounds of Joan Baez.
