Artist Bio

I’m Becca Mercer, a floral still life painter and designer who began my career in Dallas, Texas, and is now thriving in Springfield, Missouri. My work is inspired by deliciously creative women in my family who came before me, and through their artwork, taught me to love an impressionist impasto style, with a focus on floral still life.

Alongside my studio work, I collaborate with small businesses on branding and creative direction through Oh Be Joyful Creative—always guided by the belief that artistic expression is most powerful when it increases joy and adds value to the lives of those who experience it.

Work Summary

I am a dynamic and detail-oriented small business owner, artist & designer with a B.A. in Communication and Media. I am skilled in brand conceptualization and management, content editing, graphic design (Adobe Illustrator), and fine art. I bring a highly creative, intuitive, and strategic energy to the table. I am quite personable and can sensitively approach endeavors and relationships that require extra finesse. One goal that I have with those I work with is to deeply understand thought processes so that I may intuit and rightly implement needs and vision. I throw myself into my work and care deeply about the people I serve and work alongside. I can iterate ideas through a lens that simultaneously assesses current and future goals, potential issues, and steps to get there, all while keeping an eye on brand cohesiveness, aesthetics, messaging, and aims.
